Two dogs shot by police officer has community up in arms

An investigation is underway in Red Bluff, California after a police officer shot two dogs who were reportedly running loose in a residential neighborhood. The Saint Bernards were owned by a local family who are calling the shooting a “horrific killing,” and a “gross injustice” on Facebook. Police say the officer appears to have been acting in self-defense.

Youngblood all of a sudden heard firefighters outside their house.  She raced out and asked them for help. "We tried bringing the dogs but the current was too strong. We had to walk with the firefighters in shoulder high water, they didn't have a boat," said Youngblood. "They told us bringing the dogs back inside was the best thing to do."

“She’s having her babies now!” Those words, yelled by an animal shelter worker, are what started quite an adventure for a pregnant husky and a rescue volunteer, Jennifer Taylor.
